NIHB – First Nation’s (Non-Insured Health Benefits)
At Jade Dental, we proudly accept the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program and welcome First Nations and Inuit patients to our practice.
Our office offers direct billing to NIHB for eligible dental services, helping make your visit as simple and convenient as possible. For treatments covered under the NIHB Dental Benefits Program, there is generally no out-of-pocket cost to the patient, subject to NIHB eligibility, coverage limits, and any required pre-approval.
Our team is happy to help verify your coverage, explain your benefits, and assist with the approval process when required. We are committed to providing respectful, compassionate, and accessible dental care in a welcoming environment for First Nations and Inuit individuals and families.

Enrollment Confirmation
Sun Life will send you a welcome package with a member card, co-payment information and the start date for service.
Book Your Appointment
Once you receive your member card, book your appointment and let us know you are enrolled and active.
Pre-Determination
For New Patient Exams, Cleanings, Fillings, and routine care, Pre-Determinations are not necessary. However, for major treatments such as crowns or dentures, this step is required. We will send off all the estimates needed and will have a cost breakdown prior to starting.
Treatment
Treatment will be rendered. We will guide you every step of the way.
